Pictured is a statue which is, apparently, supposed to be John Lennon, which can be found in te city of Liverpool, England
We say ‘supposed’ to look like him, because...well...see for yourself, it doesn’t really look like him does it? (and apparently he’s had a head transplant because the original looked even less like him!)
Okay, on a rainy day, or if you squint a bit, it may bear some resemblance, but hey, it’s still a nice piece of art and thousands upon thousands have stood next to him for a picture
Unveiled in 1997 by Gerry Marsden ( of Gerry and the Pacemakers) and Billy J Kramer ( of Biily J Kramer and the Dakotas) as part of the 40th anniversary of the Cavern Club (the new Cavern Club is facing this statue)
Also, behind this statue is a ‘Wall of Fame’ made up of bricks that have been engraved with the names of groups and artists who played at the club. It reads like a who’s who of pop, don’t miss it
If you’re a Beatles fan this, of course, is the place to be, and every August thousands upon thousands of Beatles fans converge on Matthew Street for the annual Beatles celebrations
In addition to this, pop and rock groups from around the world make appearances around the city, many of them Beatles sound-alikes and some look-alikes (although some, we think, may have copied the look of ‘John’ above)
